Tis the Season

Yay for Christmas. I heart it so much. My dear friends Christa and B helped me decorate my apartment for Christmas. After we finished we basked in the glow of the gloriousness that is my Christmas tree while we drank hot cocoa and ate donuts. The picture doesn't do it justice.

One of those days...

I love my job. I really do. However, sometimes I have days when I wonder if the end of my shift is ever going to end. Today was one of those days. I'm exhausted. I was in a really difficult case and my patient was really sick. I was almost in tears by the end of the case. It was a constant rush for almost seven hours straight. Seriously...running my butt off for seven hours with only a quick lunch break. My body, including my eyeballs, still hurt. Enough whining. So what did I do? I went out and bought all new Christmas decorations for my Christmas tree. I feel so much better! While the high is temporary, hopefully I'll be asleep before it wears off. I plan on decorating the tree this Sunday. I'll post pictures once it's finished! Can't wait!!!

I'm slightly obsessed with decorating

As my post title stated...I'm slightly obsessed with decorating. I moved into a new apartment in September and have been working on decorating it ever since. It's been a process. Today I am featuring the living room. I just finished it last night. Here's one section of the living room...
I'm super proud of this wall. I made chalkboard paint and it turned out so great! The flower backing in the bottom shelves is a fabric drape that I made and stuck with velcro. It covers up all the TV and internet cords. Thanks for the great idea Marti!

Here's the other part of the living room. Meh.
I scored this beauty of a pillow at Anthropologie. It was originally $80. It broke my heart. I wanted it so bad. I kept watching it and it went on sale. I totally scored! I got it for $18! Love it.
These are the tiebacks I got for the curtains. Love them!

Good Day

I had a good day today. The lesson in RS today was on being grateful. You can never go wrong with this topic. As the teacher was speaking, I was thinking about what I'm grateful for. Here's some of the things I thought about.

I'm grateful for...
...all the incredible people in my life...
...a secure and steady job...
...a nice warm, safe home...
...a car that functions and get's me where i need to go...
...my testimony...
...the gospel...
...the church...
...my church leaders who sacrifice so much of their time and energy to serve...
...continuous opportunities to experience new things and have fun...
...the ability to laugh...
...food...
...the storms in my life...

I realized today in RS that the things that are most dear to me in my life have been a result from the storms that have gone on in my life. Funny how that works huh?

Scrub-a-dub-dub

I don't know when I became one of those people...but I have. Living in North Carolina has presented different "domestic" challenges. One of these challenges is a rust colored toilet bowl ring. I don't know what it is in the water, but it turns everything reddish pink. This happens in the shower and the sinks too. Anyway, I saw a commercial for scrubbing bubbles toilet cleaner disks. I'm extremely busy and as a result am always interested in efficient convenience. These disks claim that they are effective for at least three weeks. I decided to give them a try. Turns out...they work! It's amazing! I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that I check out my toilet every day and continue to be amazed. So cool. No pink toilet ring...and the toilet smells good. Ha! I'm converted. It's been three weeks and my toilet is still clean. Love it. How did I become one of those people that get excited about lame stuff like this?

New Scrub Caps

I ordered three new scrub caps for work. I just received them in the mail. Whaddya think? I spend the majority of my life wearing scrub caps, so I get pretty dang excited to have a variety. It's pretty sad that something like this makes me pumped to go to work!
